I’m not here so I can preach to you all, or to tell you you’re stupid if you don’t do things like I do them. There are many ways in which to enjoy a successful planted aquarium and just as many methods in getting there. I will share with you what I do, what I’ve learned, go over some jargon, point you to good information found elsewhere, and so forth, and hope that you pick something up you can use.
Most of all, though , the planted tank hobby is about sharing, and this is my attempt to do so. I offer a full refund for those that might not care for what they read in my pages, but ask that those people kindly submit a wad of cash first so I something to refund.

Specific notes about the use of this site:

I should point out that this site is best when viewed with pretty much any browser EXCEPT Internet Explorer, unless you’re using the new IE 7 beta, and even then it’s iffy sometimes. If you’re using Internet Explorer ( IE ), you’ll probably notice the “Get Firefox” logo on the top right corner of your browser screen.
As I just found out, if you came here on a feed link, you may not see all of the graphics on this page, to include the box in the upper right that has the link to the resources page and the green box to the right I mentioned earlier. If this is the case, either click here or go to the top or bottom of the screen and click on “Jake’s Planted Aquarium Pages” to fix that. Plugins and themes just wouldn’t be any fun without the bugs. /sigh
