Resources
Since it appears I’ve managed to somehow kill my Resources links with the new theme update, I thought I’d relist them here, in no particular order. I hope you enjoy!
Aquatic Gardener’s Association (AGA) – THE aquarium plant club.
Plantgeek.net – A great online forum, and I think the name says it all here. Great site with an outstanding glossary, and an even more outstanding plant guide. A lot of the plants in the guide even have the phonetic pronunciation for the plant name…. how cool is that?
Aquatic-Hobbyist.com – Sister site to Plantgeek, it’s all about the fishies here. Another great site with great people.
Tank Volume Calculator – For figuring out how many gallons of water your tank holds.
Calculating CO2 - Online calculator to tell you what your CO2 levels are. If you’re injecting CO2 into your tank, you need this calculator!
Chuck’s Fertilizer for Dry Ferts – This will help you to determine how to dose your dry ferts. Type 1 ml of water if adding dry. He also has downloadable version.
DIY CO2 – An excellent article on how to set up DIY CO2.
EI – Estimative Index Method of Fertilization – From the mind of Tom Barr, this method of fertilization maximized plant growth in a high tech planted tank, while allowing for less testing with test kits.
Signs of Plant Nutrient Deficiency- A comprehensive listing of what to look for when determining if your aquatic plants are deficient in nutrients.
Steve Hampton’s Personal Site – Steve Hampton’s views on a planted tank. Smart guy.
The Krib – General plant information , and pretty much anything you wanted to know about planted aquariums. It’s not the most current stuff out there, but the scientific bulk that is there is amazing. A lot of people put a lot of brain power into this site.
